Keiju Tabuki (多蕗 桂樹 Tabuki Keiju) is is the homeroom teacher of Kanba Takakura and Shoma Takakura at West Garden High School and the fiance of Yuri Tokikago, a famous actress at the Sunshiny Theatre Troupe.
Appearance
Tabuki is handsome tanned-skinned young man with dark plum hair that has bangs hanging on the right side, blue-gray eyes and oval-shaped glasses.
Personality
Tabuki is first shown as a lighthearted and maybe somewhat naive boy. But, it is later revealed that he's got a really dark and vengeful side that makes him a very tormented and helpless person.
History
On March 20, 1995 when Tabuki was about 10 years old, he was late getting up for school and missed a fatal train attack. Unfortunately the attack killed his childhood friend Momoka Oginome and he later attended her funeral in disbelief.
Tabuki remained friendly with the Oginome family, and was known to visit for dinner on "Curry Days". He's known Ringo since birth, and when she was about eleven[2] she seems to become taken with him, and eventually believes that in place of Momoka she will love him.
As a teenager, Tabuki attended West Garden High School where he would later teach biology.
He also met and then started going out with a popular and beautiful actress named Yuri Tokikago and he eventually became engaged to her. In Episode 08, they announced their engagement at a party that was attended by Ringo Oginome and Shoma Takakura and Tabuki moved in with Yuri the same night after their party. Later, they break off their marriage after realizing that they can not create a fake family together. In Episode 19, he quits his job and it is unknown where he went. In Episode 24, he stays together with Yuri as they realize why they were left behind in the world.
Relationships
Ringo Oginome
Tabuki is unaware of Ringo's obsession with him and he thinks nothing more of her than a sister.
Momoka Oginome
Tabuki seems to have shared romantic feelings with Momoka Oginome (Ringo's sister) and her death left a definite impact. They attended the same school together as children and Momoka worked him into her future according to her Diary.
Yuri Tokikago
Tabuki is engaged to Yuri, the famous and beautiful actress of Sunshiny Theatre Troupe where she treats him indulgently and she finds his seeming naivety child like and cute.
Trivia
- The name Keiju means "Japanese Judas-tree" (桂) (kei) and "tree" (樹) (ju).
- Keiju's surname Tabuki means "many" (多) (ta) and "butterbur" (蕗) (buki).
